Gannets preening
The Australasian gannet (takapu) are usually found in large colonies around New Zealand and have been nesting at Cape Kidnappers since the 1870s.
Takahe
There are only 250 of these birds left in the world, all are in New Zealand. The Takahē is a stocky bird, with strong legs and a massive bill.
