To ensure that our products are of the highest possible quality, we tested numerous types of canvas and ink variations. We wanted to find the best products and processes that not only provide a high-quality print with excellent colour reproduction, but also give a durable and beautiful finished product.

Choosing the best canvas

We found that there are often issues with a pure cotton canvas. Although users of this canvas may try to promote its natural characteristics, it ultimately gives a poorer-quality print and finish.

We use a single side coated artistic canvas (polyblend fabric) for our prints, which gives a very high quality finish. The satin finished coating is water-resistant and allows waterfast and very long lasting prints. The specially developed solvent coating gives a slight, satin finished gloss and increases the printing quality and colour-brilliance compared to uncoated canvases.

Superior inks

Water-based inks have no flexibility when they are dry, so they tend to crack when you fold the canvas around the frame. This leaves unsightly white lines on the corners of the canvas. We use a solvent ink which is flexible when dry to prevent this cracking.

A durable and beautiful finished product

Many canvas printers print using water-based inks followed by a layer of UV coating. Because our ink already contains UV protection, there is no need for use to spray our canvases with an extra UV coating. Our canvases have a lifespan of +100 years out of direct sunlight.
